The “Group choice” activity is required if students are to select themselves into Moodle groups.

Moodle groups can be used, for example, to display materials only for certain students. Or groups can discuss among themselves in the forum. Or tasks can be submitted as a group. In activities, user contributions can be filtered by group membership.

Note: First create the “Groups”. Then add the “Group choice”.

1. Click on “Add an activity or resource”.
   
2. Select “Group choice” from the list.
   
3. Fill out the form.
   
4. In the Groups area, select all groups that should be available for students to choose from (multiple selection by holding down the CTRL key).
   
5. Confirm with “Save and return to course.
