Course Appearance

You have the possibility to make some basic settings for the presentation of your course:

Theme

The theme refers to the pre-installed “theme” that will be used for the course. By default, the theme Boost Campus is set- we recommend not to change this setting, as it corresponds to the corporate design of Jade University.

Force language

If you specify a language here, the Moodle interface in the course will appear in that language, even if users have selected a different preferred language in their user profile.

Number of announcements

This setting determines how many new messages from the Announcements forum are displayed in the New Announcements block on the course page.

If the forum is not used in the course, set the setting to Zero.

In this example, the number of announcements has been set to “2”:

On the course overview page, the “New Activities” block then looks like this:

Show ratings

Use this setting to determine whether students see an “Assessments” link in the navigation block. If you do not use assessments in your course, it is a good idea to disable this setting.
If you are using assessments and the setting is disabled, students can still access their associated assessment through the individual activities.
